Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 3 Granny smith apples peeled, cored and diced in bite-sized pieces
  • ½ Lemon juiced
  • 1 tablespoon All purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg

For the Crumble Topping

  • ½ cup Rolled oats
  • ½ cup All purpose flour
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ½ cup Butter
  • ¼ tsp Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Make the filling: Add the diced apples to a mixing bowl. Immediately after, squeeze the lemon juice over the apples to prevent the apples from oxidizing. Season the apples with all purpose flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Combine well, and set aside.
3 Granny smith apples, ½ Lemon, 1 tablespoon All purpose flour, ¼ cup Granulated sugar, ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • Make the crumble: In another mixing bowl, melt the butter in the microwave in 15 second increments. Add the crumble ingredients to the melted butter, and stir until combined.
½ cup Rolled oats, ½ cup All purpose flour, ½ cup Brown sugar, ½ cup Butter, ¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon Sea salt
  • Assemble: Divide the apple filling among the individual ramekins or pots. Top with the crumble topping.
  • Bake: Bake the apple crumbles for 15 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Notes

  • Always prevent your apples from oxidizing! If you plan to cut your apples ahead of time or may have them sitting before prepping the filling, make sure you squeeze lemon over your apples to prevent them from overly browning.
