Heat a large pot over medium-high heat with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the diced onion, carrot and celery to the pot, and allow the vegetables to sweat.

Add the minced garlic to the pot, along with the spices and tomato paste. Allow tomato paste to coat vegetables then cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add the fire roasted tomatoes and green chilies next.

Add chicken broth to the Dutch oven and lower the heat to medium. Allow the soup to come to a simmer for 10-15 minutes.
