I know croutons are technically just dried up toast cubes - technically. Is a salad really a salad without them, though? I'd argue no.

These sourdough garlic croutons are the perfect use for bakery bread that has gone a little too past its prime.

Season the bread: In a large mixing bowl, sprinkle the cubed bread with the dry seasoning, and toss well.

Oil the bread: Add the olive oil and fresh garlic while tossing the bread in the bowl. Coat evenly.

Bake the croutons:  Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet in one layer. Bake for 30 minutes, until the croutons are golden brown and are crisp.
