Add the bacon lardons to a cold large skillet. Once the bacon is almost completely crisp, drain off 90% of the bacon fat, and add the onions and garlic.
Once the onions have softened, add the tomato paste and spices to the skillet. Mix the tomato paste into the onions and bacon, cooking it for 2 minutes.
Turn the heat to low, and add the heavy cream to the skillet. Combine the sauce together, and add half of the pasta cooking water to loosen the consistency.
